Bio : Carl O. Helvie, R.N., Dr.P.H. is a registered nurse with 58 years’ experience as a nurse practitioner, educator, author, and researcher and currently host of a radio show. During his career he worked with thousands of clients using his knowledge of health and wellness obtained from three advanced degrees in public health and wellness. He also used this information teaching about 4,000 graduate and undergraduate students and again in his own life when confronted with a diagnosis of lung cancer in 1974. When given 6 months to live he refused traditional care and choose natural alternative interventions instead. Now 38 years later at age 80 he is in excellent health with no chronic illness or prescribed medications despite the statistics of 3 chronic illnesses and 5 prescribed medications for a 75 year old.
