Bio : Trained at the Master's level in Geology, Linda Jacobs was one of Exxon Corporation's first women field geologists in 1974. After thirty years on the front line where new oil and gas fields are found, she turned her talents to writing novels. Linda began writing stories as a child growing up in Greenville, South Carolina. In 1992, she returned to fiction after twenty years of technical writing and joined Rice University's novel writing program. The result was The Yellowstone Series of novels: Summer of Fire, Rain of Fire, Lake of Fire, and Jackson Hole Journey. Linda's personal love affair with Yellowstone began in 1973, when she attended Geology Field Camp near the park. She has visited the park in every season, for research and annual book signing tours. Linda also writes romance under the name Christine Carroll. Children of Dynasty and The Senator's Daughter are set in the San Francisco Bay area. Married to fellow geologist Richard Jacobs, Linda divides her time between the West and the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. They both enjoy adventure travel, having dived the Caribbean, taken three African safaris, and gone alpine hiking in New Zealand and the Spanish Pyrenees.
