Bio : In the past decade, award-winning author and photographer Carolyn CJ Jones has evolved from living on a sailboat to landlubber, married to single, drinking to sober, nurse to author / photographer / publisher and finally, from van living to homeowner. In the early 2000's, Carolyn traveled the Western States and Mexico for three years while photographing dozens of wrought-iron gates; she has hundreds of gate images from her journeys. Photos from her gate collection, along with accompanying prose, are published in her book Opening the Gates of the Heart: A Journey of Healing. This is a book of 42 photographs of gates, coupled with prose that describes Carolyn's journey from feelings of worthlessness and deep despair to joy and peace. Carolyn currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area and is occupied with publishing her book. She has already begun to compile photographs for her next book, Gates of Grace. []
