cooked or uncooked fruits and vegetables dryer and vacuum lint
breads and grains eggshells, nut shells, corn cobs
coffee grounds and filters wood ashes, sawdust, wood chips
grass clippings and flowers yard trimmings, leaves, straw, hay
seaweed and kelp houseplants, used potting soil
tea leaves or paper tea bags (no staples) cardboard, newspaper, clean paper (not glossy)

Avoid: animal products—meat, seafood, dairy, eggs, lard, bones, pet feces—
metals, glass, plastics, and anything treated with chemicals.
