T on the Home Fire Preparedness

Campaign, strives to reduce the

number of lives that would be

tragically lost to home fires. The

campaign’s goal is to reduce the

number of deaths and injuries caused

by house fires by 25% within five

years. Since joining the campaign

in August of 2014, Tzu Chi, ARC, and

many other partnering organizations

have installed 66,000 smoke alarm

units and replaced 11,000 batteries in

more than 37,000 households across

the nation. In addition to checking

and installing smoke alarms, Tzu

Chi volunteers also provide safety

tips and education to the serviced

households.
