Ge ng back in touch with nature is the ideal an dote to hard-faced, hec c city living. It’s free and you don’t need a prescrip on to get
a li le peace and quiet, clear the head, wake the senses, smell the eucalypts and listen to the birds. All of which you get in spades around here, in fact you’re literally surrounded by it.
Must see & do
• Engross yourself in the sights, sounds and waterfalls of Macquarie Pass Na onal Park
• Pack a picnic and enjoy the nature of Blackbu  Reserve
• Scuba dive or snorkel into the spectacular aqua c reserve of Bushranger's Bay at Bass Point
• Walk the coastal tracks within Killalea State Park
The beaches on your doorstep are the sandy paths to the serenely green forest of Bass Point Reserve. It’s here you discover that ge ng tranquil can also give you quite a buzz when it’s mixed with magni cent ocean views.
Looking down at the sparkling Bushranger’s Bay and Maloney’s Bay is a real shot of pleasure for  red eyes. But be warned, you may be en ced to do more than look and end up ducking your head under. A er all, divers come from around the country to get an eyeful of the beauty beneath.
We also have another natural gem ( it’s jade, if you’re going by colour ) in Killalea State Park. Here you can relax for a picnic, or camp overnight, in na ve bushland that comes right down to one of the best surf beaches on the coast.
Nearby is the very family friendly Blackbu  Forest Reserve which has the last remaining,
original coastal plains forest in the region. It has plenty of barby sites and walking tracks as well as playgrounds for the kids.
If you like a li le awesome with your nature, then a few clicks inland from here and you’re in Macquarie Pass Na onal Park, where you’ll  nd ( it will actually  nd you ) the majes c Illawarra Escarpment. A truly,
in your face, drama cally beau ful range of cli  faces,  mbered ridges and rainforest gullies. Add some splash with a stroll along the Cascades Rainforest Walk featuring ( you guessed it ) a drama c waterfall, or take
the Glenview Track across the creek that becomes the waterfall.
When it comes to nature, ge ng a li le whoa-look-at-that with your feeling-so- chilled-out is just another of the free perks of being here.
