Quantitative Data Analysis
Simply Explained Using SPSS
MANOVA
MANOVA (Multivariate analysis of variance) is used for two
or more than two dependent variables. For example, a researcher is
interested to know is there any significant difference between
private and public schools’ math and science achievement scores. In
this example, private and public schools are two group and math
and science are two dependent variables.
3. For example, a researcher is looking for difference between
public schools’ performance and private schools’
performance in math and science achievement scores.
Following diagram shows MANOVA research design.
4. Two Dependent variables: Math and science achievement
scores
5. One Independent variable: school system with two groups
(public and private)
