Head of Nursing Department

oday marks a milestone in your life. I am so proud of you for all
Tthat you have accomplished. It has been a long journey but with
perseverance and determination, you have made it to this day.

I challenge you to take what you have learned in the college and go
out from this place with passion; with a driven determination to use
your knowledge and your skills and your role as a nurse – a powerful
and privileged role – to make a difference; a difference to the lives of
every single patient you meet. You have been equipped with knowl-
edge and skills and you are now graduating as a competent nurse
         ready to change the world.

Aim to be detailed oriented and thorough in everything you do. The
details do matter in life, and especially in nursing. Look up every
medication you don’t know, double-check your calculations, read the Mr. Richard Korgoren
policy and procedure manual, be systematic in your assessments and Head of Nursing Department
resist the urge to skip a step because you’re having a busy day. You
will be the nurse that picks up on a subtle change that saves a life.

Resist the temptation to check your Facebook page or send a text
message when you have some downtime at work. Instead, offer to Trust in
help a co-worker that is having a busy day. Your willingness to help
others will serve you well and the favor will be re-paid when you yourself.
need it most. Be kind to your co-workers and always willing to lend
an ear or a hand. People that spend all day nurturing others need to
be nurtured in return. Be willing to stay late at work or come in early. Have faith
I can promise you’ll be a standout in the workplace if you are willing
to work even just 10% harder than everyone else. in yourself.

You are moving on to a new and exciting chapter in your life. I wish Have hope.
you all the best for the future that lies ahead. Congratulations on
                                                                                   Be open to
         your graduation.

“Just imagine, how much easier our lives possibilities.

would be if we were born with a ‘user guide

or owner’s manual’ which could tell us what to

eat and how to live healthy.”
