In February of 2019, Vivian defeated Lee Hye- in, who ranked 20th in the world, and won his second World Cup championship.
In March of the same year, Vivian overtook Korea's Kang Yingmei with a better performance in the competition, and rose to the first place in the world ranking, and became the first Hong Kong fencing player in the world.
