Some fifteen years later, Ven. Sangharakshita edited the

transcripts of those lectures for publication in Mitrata, a bi-
monthly magazine for Mitras - people who have settled upon

the Friends of the Western Buddhist Order as the movement
within which they wish to develop as individuals. Each lecture
was accompanied by edited extracts from seminars given by

Ven. Sangharakshita which further elucidate the themes of
the lectures.

Some time ago, the Young Buddhist Association of Malaysia
generously offered to publish the entire series and by their

efforts it now appears for the first time in book form. We are
deeply grateful to the Association for making this edition

possible and for so kindly donating so many copies for the
work of the Friends of the Western Buddhist Order in India
(where it is known as the Trailokya Bauddha Mahasangha

Sahayak Gana).
