● Basic hygiene and grooming

Room environment
● Ensure the room is aired and well-lit, with natural light
if possible – sunlight is a natural disinfectant!
● An easy access to things like light switch / bed lamp,
alarm, phone, book, and water from the patient’s bed
● Should be kept clean and clutter free for movement
to and from bathroom.
Patient transfer
● Correct transfer techniques
● Use transfer aids:
○ Gait transfer belts
○ Hoist
