Dahlonega & Amicalola Falls

While in North Georgia, your students will learn about North Georgia’s diverse

habitats, and will be given a deeper understanding of one of our state’s most
important geographic regions. Students will be able to ask questions to differentiate
between plants and animals in various habitats, and will learn how various external

features and adaptations help the plant and animal life in North Georgia to survive.

Then, students will travel to Dahlonega and will discover a live, working mine. Here,
students will learn about the Georgia Gold Rush – a primary motivator for the removal

of the Cherokee Indians. Students will even get their own chance to “strike it rich”,
       while they pan for gold!
