P. 30
Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night going over the list of things I must do later in the day. Very few things on
the list are even for me. To tell you the truth most of the things are for everybody but me. I find myself always trying to
assist others with their problems. It has often caused me to have blackouts and shortages just like an electrical outage. My
energy is sapped and people only expect more.
The more of me they see, the more they find something wrong. Their criticism is often harsh and strong. God please help
this sista break free. I know there is a call on my life but where does this end. There is hurt and abuse at every turn and
bend.
I have often found myself going through the motions because it’s expected of me. It seems like people have their own
opinion of how I should look, act and be. The amazing thing is they don’t understand that God has fashioned and designed
me with his awesome hands. Therefore, they don’t have a clue to who I really am. This may sound a little harsh to you but
thank God, this sista is breaking free. Free from crawling and whining, to standing and flying. Yes thank God he is break-
ing this sista free.
Having an incarcerated mind filled with childess play is the devil’s major attack on the church today. Cliques, clubs and
social events often keeps us captivated and imprisoned that’s why Paul told us not to be not conformed to this world but
renew our minds. It is imperative if we are to grow in God’s grace and become strong Christians. We cannot be caught up
in Performing for God but living holy for God. It is paramount that we recognize we are free to serve the true and living God
not people, places or things we are not called to bondage but freedom. Yes, God is breaking this sista free. People tend to
place you in a mold and expect you to stay there even when God is calling you to another place. The word of God tells us
we have been set free by God’s word. I am coming out of prison and smelling the clean flesh air (the truth of the word).
And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free (John 8:32 KJV) Thank God this sista is Breaking Free”
I am choosing to live in the center of God’s will for my life. This isn’t always going to be where my husband, family and
friends might be. We all have individual calling and we most adhere to the voice of God. We must listen to God and not
follow traditionalism.
Traditionalism has held me captive far too long. It has been intoxicating with a sting of death that can destroy if I am not
carful. It will imprison, bind and render me useless for the true purpose and work of God. Jesus clearly said “I have come
to give you life and it more abundantly.
“ I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly (John 10:10 KJV) I have felt the an-
guish, pain and total restrain in traditionalism that blocks you from serving the true and living God
There will be times when God will give each of us a different assignment. God is breaking this sista free, from the shadow
of her husband, family, friends, co-worker and co-labors in the church. This may seem selfish but when it comes to serv-
ing God we must be a little selfish. I realize in order for God to use my gifts, talents and me I must follow him completely.
Therefore, I am screaming to the top of my voice; Thank God he is breaking this sista free! I submit and surrender I am
becoming God’s original. My DNA is mine and mine alone I have been fashioned and designed by God. The scripture says,
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well . (Psalm 139:14
NIV)
I thank God I am not a clone but hand picked and perfectly designed by the master. The funny thing is most people have
tried to clone me into someone in their imagination. They have tried to tell me what hats, heels, dresses or fancy suits to
wear. Some people have even had the nerve to comment on where I sat in church. They don’t seem to recognize that I am
more than what I wear or how I act. I am God’s workmanship.
The word of God says, for we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before
ordained that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:10 KJV)
Therefore, I am not a figment of someone’s imagination. I have been called by God and given a special assignment to
reach the world for Christ in my own God given way.
