have either a King or queen as head of state. The
monarchy in Japan has lasted for over 1000 years.
It took a long time after the abolition of slavery in the
USA for Black Americans to have any sense of identity.
The abolition of apartheid in South Africa occurred in
1994.
After the election, the transition to the new
government was quite smooth. She has made a rapid
transition from senior management to the Board of
Directors.
