There is much nurturing of a gift that has to happen when an individual’s desire to come into one’s true self and hold consistently to that mission. I was all ears for Keraun Har- ris, a former convict, turned viral comedian; Hollywood’s He Got Next. No matter where you are in your journey, never let anyone tell you that your story is over; you are the author!
1. Do you remember the day you first went viral? Like it was yesterday! I had posted this Meek Mill video about the intro and he reposted it and I got like 15,000 followers by the next day.
2. How did that feel after all that you had gone through? Man, just liberating! I finally seen something go right in my life, after so many things going wrong.
3. I know a few people who have served some time and they made mention of having someone speak life into them during their sentence. Did you have anyone like that? Man, hell naw! Ain’t nobody like that. All those selfish ass guys were ready to go home just like me! Everyone was just trying to help ev- erybody’s time go faster so we could get the F* out that place. 4. If so, what is something they said or spoke about, that you still tell yourself from time to time? Shit, I told ya, they didn’t speak no life. All they gave me before I left was prison things that I still do ‘til this day. Like the way I take a shower. I take a shower like I am still in prison. I gotta wash the soap and not like don’t drop the soap but make sure that shit is clean. It is hard to explain, but I kept some prison habits.
5. Is the Hollywood life better than you thought? Yes and no, because, Hollywood life is just what you make it. It’s a great life to see all the beautiful things every day and see so many things that you really want. How people are here, a Mer- cedes is just cool a car. You see people riding around in Rolls Royce’s daily, so the good thing about being here is you can be inspired by just going to the store.
6. How do you find balance? Do you dedicate certain days to rest or days you don’t answer the phone because you are cre- ating material? That’s exactly what I do. I normally on week- ends will I’ll just watch sports and do nothing else but write and go over material. That’s how I come up with a lot of funny material. I’m on a plane every week, so my 3-hour plane rides I use that time as well.
7. Are there any organizations or causes that you believe in and support? Black Lives Matter right now. That is the main thing I believe in and support right now. Black people are still being treated bad, I feel like now it’s my generations turn to have an imprint on our race and politics. I want to be one of those people to have a positive impact.
8. Do you want to take on larger roles in your acting? I know you have been in several movies as well as producing your own, I am just curious if you want to get on a cast with the likes of the Denzel’s, Will Smith’s, Sanaa’s and Nia’s of the industry. HELL YEA! I audition out here once a week for big roles, I have been very close to getting a few. That is the ultimate goal, to make it in acting. Have my own shows and movies. My end goals is that and being the Jay-Z of this,
