 “ A Survivor’s Mind”
What’s on my mind? The children faced with the fear of harm, the oppression of being preyed upon. The feeling of being lost, confused and tortured by those that should be offering protection not suppression and depression. Burdened with horrific mental reflections, wanting to speak out but terrified the lies being told to them would find a way of being true.
Locked in a cage of mental frustration blocking out illustrations of painful situ- ations brought on by the incestuous man- ifestations that can not be understood but know that somethings not right and they want to scream out and expose the viola- tions of this vile molestation but the strong hold of control exiles communications. Tears flow like a river through a life that becomes bitter. Fear becomes anger, anger becomes rage, enraged and still caged be- cause the pain has stained your brain with shame. Your parents are blamed, your behavior is stray. They’re thinking the di- vorce has made you this way. Their heads shaking at choices and mistakes that you make.
Crying for help
But you can’t find a way, wondering if what he did to you makes you gay. Think- ing three decades have passed and he still has you tamed, why can’t you be brave and expose this cowards name?
Then the day comes you find someone with the same pain, not knowing at first that your lives can relate. Through trust and security you open the gate, freedom at last it’s never too late. Parents be mindful and always beware because no relation or gender is exempt from despair. With that being said now what’s on your mind?
