COMMUNITY BENEFIT PAYMENTS
The surplus from the hydro scheme
will be gifted to DIG and will be paid
into a Community Benefit Fund.
Disbursement of this fund will be
guided by DIG’s Community Action
Plan which was produced after an in-
depth consultation process with the
local community and regular visitors
to the area.
The Board of DIG has asked AED to help appoint an independent third party
to manage the Community Benefit Fund on its behalf. This will ensure that
the allocation of funds to qualifying projects will be done impartially.
The consultation process carried out in 2016 identified the following key
themes and priorities: the community centre, communication /community
spirit, children and young people, local environment, infrastructure and
services, tourism and facilities/activities, employment and opportunity.
Specific targets identified in the current action plan include:
Community Centre: update community centre facilities
Communication/Community Spirit
Children and Young People
Local Environment
Infrastructure and Services
Tourism and Facilities (Activities)
Employment and Opportunity
