SENSES

                 PHOTOGRAPHY + REVIEW: LOGAN SCHOOLEY

A community, brought together by three artists, gathered in an intimate venue in the heart of DC
on a bustling Thursday evening. The sparse crowd grew in size quickly throughout the first act,
with a charged energy that became more electrifying as the concert flew by. California singer
MVSSIE’s began the night of punk performances. Her relatable personality and comfortable banter
connected the audience to the stage. She ran throughout the venue, bringing her mic to the upper
balcony crowd. Her original songs and a cover or two had the crowd engaged and pumped up.

Negative 25 bridged the gap between the other two sets, generating a new surge of excitement
and second wind amongst the crowd. The fans cheered and shrieked throughout the duo’s
performance, particularly passionately for their cover of “Teenage Dirtbag”

After 5 supporting tours, this is senses first headlining tour. Once they took the stage, Senses
connected with the crowd and energetically rallied the audience, climbing off the stage and
running back and forth to reach each side of the venue. The lead singer, Madison Taylor, was
supported by a passionate band from the background. Chappell Roan’s “Good Luck, Babe!” had
each person at their loudest volume as they sang and danced their way through the cover.

The venue stayed packed until the show's conclusion, as listeners took in as much music
as they could. Senses curated an excellent group of performers that ensured all enjoyed
the evening. All the acts encouraged the audience to participate, dance, and sing along –
fostering the perfect environment to build a passionate community of music lovers!
