For 20 years now, Majo Portilla from the Netherlands has been painting across the
globe, from Amsterdam, Guatemala, USA and Basel to Dubai now where she currently
resides. With a wealth of experience accruedover her travels, she channels them into
her bold semi abstract pieces that commands the vibrancy of her artistic career.

With oil and acrylics as her core painting mediums, Majo assesses the human
condition and draws out the inner beauty and strengths of her subjects. Often clad in
intricately textured outfits, her figures are mostly devoid of any facial features,
prompting her viewers to look not at the surface, but introspectively at the qualities
of the mental and emotional states.

The Mauritius International Art Fair, Carrousel du Louvre Contemporary Art Fair, Museo
Diffuso Contemporaneo Permanent Exhibition in Italy, and the Museum of the Americas
have all propelled her artworks into diverse markets throughout the globe.
