Healthcare Town, new engine for growth
The medical tourism market in Asia is undergoing fierce competition. In response to this
trend, the Korean government designated medical tourism as one of 17 new growth engines in
2008, leading JDC to launch the Healthcare Town project in the same year. The infrastructure
of the facility was completed in September 2016, and the growing sophistication of the island's
medical tourism infrastructure is currently well under way.
Healthcare Town will not only meet the rising demand for premium medical services, but also
serve as a hub of medical tourism by holding various events that can promote the healthcare
industry, including seminars and conferences.
