to work hard anymore. My
brother and I have to help mom
work, “said Petu who aims to
be a teacher when asked about
his daily activities after school.
Every day, Petu, 11, a 5th grader
of SD Ombangaingo, Southwest
Sumba – NTT, has to cook food
first before eating his meals. He
does it because his parents work
in the garden. Then he helps
taking firewood and repels birds
coming for paddies.
At Tangan Pengharapan’s FLC in
Kuta Podu, Southwest Sumba,
NTT, he studies a subject which
is not taught yet at his school,
i.e English.
Due to our care, Petu and other
children who were born in poor
condition, can build their future
and reach their goals. Let us
make their dreams come true.
