Heater includes burner combustion box to ensure complete burner combustion prior to
contact with water. In addition, the combustion box is double wall constructed and the
space between walls is filled with cold water to protect if from heat deterioration.
Heater is designed with patented tangential burner firing, creating vortex turbulence to
ensure maximum efficiency. (Ludell Patent No. 4574774)
Heater is designed with a single water distribution spray nozzle, which simplifies the
system.
The heater is designed with a water-cooled support grid for the heat exchange packing
material; this eliminates the need for a lower cooling nozzle.
The unit is designed with a double wall for the combustion chamber and lower heater
shell. The space between the two walls is insulated with cold water.
Burner is designed to shut-off when water temperature and water level in the tank is
satisfied.
Cold water supplied to the unit is introduced first through the water heater not into the
storage tank. This allows water to be heated instantaneously and stored at requested
hot water temperature without the need for constant water reheating or recirculating.
Heater is protected with the following safety devices to ensure, reliable operation: Stack
temperature switch, inlet water pressure switch, water wall level switch, low water level
switch, water heater outer shell temperature switch, UL listed burner and control panel.
Quality is assured since Ludell is an ASME Code Manufacturing Facility. Ludell is the
Holder of ASME Code Stamp No. 18439.
