Appeals
a. Before state commission - Appeal can be made against the order of district
forum within a period of 30 days, Subject to deposit a 50% of the amount
awarded or Rs. 25,000 whichever is less
b. Before national commission - Appeal can be made against the order of state
commission within a period of 30 days, Subject to deposit a 50% of the amount
awarded or Rs. 35,000 whichever is less
c. Before Supreme Court - Appeal can be made against the order of National
commission within a period of 30 days, Subject to deposit a 50% of the amount
awarded or Rs. 50,000 whichever is less
The district forum, the state commission or the national commission shall not admit
a complaint unless it is filed within two years from the date of which the cause of
action has arisen.
If any party fails to comply the order of above forums such person may be
imprisoned for a minimum one month to maximum three years or with fine
minimum Rs.2000 to maximum Rs.10,000 or both
