                   SEPTEMBER 30
                        Among all the sons she has brought up. “And My name is blasphemed
                     19 These two things have come to you; continually every day.
                        Who will be sorry for you?— 6 Therefore My people shall know My
                        Desolation and destruction, famine and   name;
                           sword— Therefore they shall know in that day
                        By whom will I comfort you? That I am He who speaks:
                     20 Your sons have fainted, ‘Behold, it is I.’ ”
                        They lie at the head of all the streets, 7 How beautiful upon the mountains
                        Like an antelope in a net; Are the feet of him who brings
                        They are full of the fury of the LORD, good news,
                        The rebuke of your God.
                                                               Who proclaims peace,
                     21 Therefore please hear this, you Who brings glad tidings of good things,
                           afflicted,                          Who proclaims salvation,
                        And drunk but not with wine. Who says to Zion,
                     22 Thus says your Lord, “Your God reigns!”
                        The LORD and your God, 8 Your watchmen shall lift up their voices,
                        Who pleads the cause of His people: With their voices they shall sing
                       “See, I have taken out of your hand       together;
                        The cup of trembling, For they shall see eye to eye
                        The dregs of the cup of My fury; When the LORD brings back Zion.
                        You shall no longer drink it. 9 Break forth into joy, sing together,
                     23 But I will put it into the hand of those You waste places of Jerusalem!
                           who afflict you, For the LORD has comforted His
                        Who have said to you, people,
                        ‘Lie down, that we may walk over you.’ He has redeemed Jerusalem.
                        And you have laid your body like the 10 The LORD has made bare His holy arm
                           ground,                             In the eyes of all the nations;
                        And as the street, for those who walk And all the ends of the earth shall see
                           over.” The salvation of our God.
                        Awake, awake! 11 Depart! Depart! Go out from there,
                   52 Put on your strength, O Zion;            Touch no unclean thing;
                        Put on your beautiful garments, Go out from the midst of her,
                        O Jerusalem, the holy city! Be clean,
                        For the uncircumcised and the unclean You who bear the vessels of the LORD.
                        Shall no longer come to you. 12 For you shall not go out with haste,
                     2
                        Shake yourself from the dust, arise;   Nor go by flight;
                        Sit down, O Jerusalem! For the LORD will go before you,
                        Loose yourself from the bonds And the God of Israel will be your rear
                           of your neck,                         guard.
                        O captive daughter of Zion!
                                                           13 Behold, My Servant shall deal
                     3
                     For thus says the LORD:                     prudently;
                       “You have sold yourselves for nothing, He shall be exalted and extolled and
                        And you shall be redeemed without 14 be very high.
                           money.” Just as many were astonished at you,
                                                               So His visage was marred more than
                     4 For thus says the Lord GOD: any man,
                       “My people went down at first
                        Into Egypt to dwell there;
                        Then the Assyrian oppressed them
                           without cause.
                     5 Now therefore, what have I here,” 52:14 His visage was marred. The Servant
                                                           must undergo inhuman cruelty to the point
                           says the LORD, that He no longer looks like a human being.
                       “That My people are taken away for His appearance is so awful that people look at
                           nothing? Him in astonishment (53:2,3; Ps. 22:6; Matt.
                        Those who rule over them 26:67; 27:30; John 19:3).
                        Make them wail,” says the LORD,
