Oh, that You would rend the heavens!
64 That You would come down!
That the mountains might shake at
Your presence— 64:11 burned up with fire;…laid waste.
2 As fire burns brushwood, Through prophetic revelation Isaiah uttered
As fire causes water to boil— these words many years before the fall of
To make Your name known to Your Jerusalem and the destruction of the temple in

That the nations may tremble at Your though it had already occurred. God’s people
presence! were in desperate straits and their prayers
3 When You did awesome things for urgent and persistent: “How can You stand by
which we did not look, when Your people and Your land are so barren?”
                        You came down,
                        The mountains shook at Your
presence. And all our pleasant things are laid
4 For since the beginning of the world waste.
Men have not heard nor perceived by 12 Will You restrain Yourself because of
the ear, these things, O LORD?
Nor has the eye seen any God besides Will You hold Your peace, and afflict
                           You, us very severely?
Who acts for the one who waits for Psalm 115:14–18
                           Him.
5 You meet him who rejoices and does 14 May the LORD give you increase more
                           righteousness, and more,
Who remembers You in Your ways. You and your children.
You are indeed angry, for we have 15 May you be blessed by the LORD,
sinned— Who made heaven and earth.
In these ways we continue; 16 The heaven, even the heavens, are the
And we need to be saved.
                                                                 LORD’s;
6 But we are all like an unclean thing, But the earth He has given to the
And all our righteousnesses are like children of men.
filthy rags; 17 The dead do not praise the LORD,
We all fade as a leaf, Nor any who go down into silence.
And our iniquities, like the wind, 18 But we will bless the LORD
Have taken us away. From this time forth and forevermore.
7 And there is no one who calls on Your Praise the LORD!
                           name,
Who stirs himself up to take hold Proverbs 26:27
of You; 27 Whoever digs a pit will fall into it,
For You have hidden Your face And he who rolls a stone will have it
from us, roll back on him.
And have consumed us because of
                           our iniquities. Philippians 1:1–30
8 But now, O LORD, Paul and Timothy, bondservants of Jesus
You are our Father; 1 Christ,
We are the clay, and You our potter; To all the saints in Christ Jesus who are in
And all we are the work of Your hand.
9 Do not be furious, O LORD, Philippi, with the bishops and deacons:
Nor remember iniquity forever; 2 Grace to you and peace from God our
Indeed, please look—we all are Your Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
people! 3 I thank my God upon every remembrance
                                                               4
10 Your holy cities are a wilderness, of you, always in every prayer of mine making
                                                                               5
Zion is a wilderness, request for you all with joy, for your fellowship
                                                                                           6
Jerusalem a desolation. in the gospel from the first day until now, be-
11 Our holy and beautiful temple, ing confident of this very thing, that He who
Where our fathers praised You, has begun a good work in you will complete it
                                                                                7
Is burned up with fire; until the day of Jesus Christ; just as it is right
