2017 was a year of improvement and elevated standards for the Product Supply Chain (PSC) team, led by Senior Director Jorge Gonzalez. He believes that the role of a leader is to be of service to the people that he leads. With this approach, it is easy to understand the mutual respect that exists among the team. In this department everyone gets rewarded for the same goal, because if we fail in the mission of the supply chain everyone fails, but if we win, everyone wins. It is this camaraderie, along with diligence and pragmatism that ensured a successful year for the Product Supply Chain.
In simple terms, PSC is responsible for the creation of the company’s rums and fine beverages, from “the cane to the cup,” to quote Jorge. The processes involve growing the cane, grinding, processing, distillation and fermentation. After the creation of the products, they have to then ensure that every order placed by the customer is fulfilled and on time.
To keep all the wheels running, collaboration and communication within the department is integral. Jorge stresses that silos are inimical to success and
