legal requirements are met. Samuels listed the major benefit from their expertise.
“Ultimately, our aim is to see all internal stakehold- ers take a broader view of the factors affecting any decision taken, partnership, or association entered into and in the daily execution of duties.
There are legal implications of certain actions, yes, but also giving due consideration to all potential risks and hedging against those risks either in a written agreement, or agreed ways of working and policies.”
Of course, efficiency is vastly important as the legal department is the central repository for all critical documentation related to the business and its operations.
“Also, because we service every department in the business, we are required to be responsive and to work with often competing deadlines to ensure that all stakeholders receive information, documentation, advice and general assistance in a timely manner,” Samuels pointed out.
“We have been routinely implementing new processes to increase efficiency, organisation and approachability to ensure we are providing necessary help,” Samuels
added. Noting ongoing development within the department, “We are in the process of implementing new legal software to enhance document retrieval, document creation, file organisation and adaptation.”
As legal experts have an eye for detail, Samuels observed the impact workplace benefits and interpersonal relations play in maintaining a high level of camaraderie and push for excellence among Camparistas. “The most outstanding trait of Camparistas is their passion; passion to excel in their roles and to ensure that their work has a positive impact on colleagues, as well as the bottom line.” She also purported that, “The opportunities for growth and intercompany exposure, as well as monetary and other benefits offered by JWN and the wider Campari Group, act as great motivation to increase efficiencies and work ethic.”
Samuels added, “Camparistas are passionate about each other on an interpersonal level. I have observed many longstanding and solid friendships amongst colleagues who first met at JWN or within Campari, which appears to have sustained them through the company’s many and continuing changes.”
