HThere are times in our lives that it is impor-
tant to stop and think as we are in conversation with
others or even with ourselves. So many of the things
we say and think are a part of our programming,

based on our education, experiences and what others
have said about us. This programming forms the basis
for our belief systems and, to a large degree, they are
what run our lives for us. It’s like running on autopilot,
we have an automatic response when certain things
happen or when some subjects are brought up in con-
versation. If we have had a positive experience with
the subject at hand, it may be a positive automatic
response. Conversely, if we have had a negative expe-
rience, we are reminded of that, even subconsciously
and may say something that reflects the inner attitude
we have towards the memory. This becomes a BS or
Bogus Story that we tell ourselves inwardly.
Why is this important? As adults, many of us have
learned the value of personal development and strive
to apply the principles to our lives. We can get excited
about a new program, a new project and then a
thought may come inside our head that tells us why it
will not work, why we are unable to do that which we
want to do or have set out to do. It may further try to
convince us that we are not capable, that no one will
want to participate or any number of things to stop us
from forward motion. This is where we need disrup-
tive action! We need to disrupt that thought and not
allow it to have control! That’s right! A thought, not
seized, will come out through our words and will
become a weapon used against us. When we hear it
said, and it is said repeatedly, we may start to believe
it. It becomes part of our programming. And to think
it could come out of our own mouths!
