Racing lost enthusiastic owner/breeder Jim Walker last January. The 87-year-old Idaho breeder died Jan. 21, 2020, and didn’t get to see
Los Alamitos $2 Million Futurity-G1 winner Apollitical Patty reach the races. Walker loved her older half-brother Zoomin For Spuds, how- ever, and did witness him winning the 2016 Champion of Champions-G1.
A Perfect Cocktail, the dam of Apollitical Patty and Zoomin For Spuds, is an excellent broodmare. It’s even more impressive because Walker bought her for only $250. She joins Runaway Dash (dam of Ocean Runaway and Wave Carver) and Dasha Freda (dam of Heza Dasha Fire and Ima Fearless Hero) as the
only mares to have produced a Champion of Champions winner and another horse to win the Los Alamitos $2 Million Futurity.
The Walker Family Trust races Apollitical Patty and Zoomin For Spuds, both trained by Monty Arrossa. Armando Cervantes piloted Apollitical Patty in the 400-yard Los Alamitos
