 Wild West Futurity-G3
CM DILLINGHAM ADVICE
by Tracy Gantz
CM Dillingham Advice started his career in the Pacific Northwest with breeder/trainer Nick Lowe and owner Chris Sutton, where he
won once and ran second in the John Deere Emerald Downs Juvenile Challenge. Monty Arrossa took over training duties for Sutton
at Los Alamitos, and CM Dillingham Advice captured the $99,350 Los Alamitos Wild West Futurity-G3 on Oct. 25.
“They did a great job with him,” stated Arrossa. “We got him just before the Wild West trials. I hope
the horse stays down here. We try to promote the Northwest horses coming down here and we like them to stay down here and con- tinue to run.”
CM Dillingham Advice lugged out at the start of his Oct. 4 Wild West Futurity trial and finished fourth. In

BEACH BLAST

Racing exclusively at Indiana Grand Race Course, Beach Blast won his Oct. 3 trial heat by 1 1/4-length to set the fastest time for
the Miss Roxie Little Futurity. In the $192,400 finals on Oct. 24, it was a different story.
Beach Blast stumbled away from the 6-post with Shanley Jackson aboard and they had to scramble to get the lead. By mid-stretch, he was a 1/2-length in front, and he held that lead across the line. Trained by Randy Smith, he stopped the timer at :17.451
to earn a 104 speed index.
The gelding also earned
the first place check worth
$105,820 for owners Keith
Bode and Brock Hutchinson,
boosting his total bankroll to
$145,327. He now has a race
record of 6-3(1)-1(1)-1.
Sheri Miller bred Beach Blast out of Jaguar Rocket Stakes winner Jess Alive Bully. The mare has pro- duced 100% winners from
the final, with jockey Jesus Ayala aboard, he broke on top and led throughout. At the wire, CM Dillingham Advice’s winning margin was 1 1/2-lengths, and he stopped the timer in :17.739 for 350 yards.
“The horse was very relaxed in the starting gate,” Ayala relayed. “He had a very good start. He lugged out in the trials, but he was very professional tonight. At the break, it was his
race to win. It felt like he was doing things easy, but the horses on the inside were com- ing after us.”
Lowe bred CM Dillingham Advice out of winner CM Mo Baby, who finished second in the 2015 Grants Pass Derby under Lowe’s tutelage. CM Mo Baby is a full sister to stakes placed CM Undertainfluence. CM Dillingham Advice is the mare’s first starter.
XG Bar Racing LLC’s homebred Proud Movin Renegade (Maknmoves-Proud Moon Bug) finished second. Jesus Valenzuela rode the gelding for trainer Jose Flores. Proud Movin Renegade won this year’s Bitterroot Futurity.
Erasmo Gasca piloted Delila Rose (Carters Cartel-Strawflying Dina) to third for owner Justin Lewis and trainer Matthew Fales. Still a maiden, Delila Rose has run second once and third three times in seven previous tries.
Completing the field were Quirksome (Foose-Dont Pass Bar), Threefamousdiamonds (Tres Seis Nueve-Fames Version), Gulfstream 650 (Foose-Cowgirls Gone Wild), RMR Take Notes (Five Bar Cartel-RMR Baby Doll), Relentless Six (Hes Relentless-Struttin Sixs), One Sweet Morgan (One Sweet Jess-Morgan Gale) and Bravo Delta Charlie (One Fabulous Eagle-An American Cartel).

“This horse hasn’t come to himself yet,” said Smith of Beach Blast. “He doesn’t know how fast he really is. He is always looking around instead of putting his mind on run- ning. When he matures mentally, he will be hard to outrun.
“He wasn’t at all hard to break and he’s easy to be around in the barn area,”
he continued. “He came out of the Indiana yearling sale; we gave $22,000 for him. He’s easy to gallop and a good gate horse. He hasn’t really learned how to leave there running but he’s good and quiet.”
When asked about his future, Smith said, “We are really excited about his future; he is a solid sound horse. We are going to turn him out for the winter and gather him
back up in the spring. We are looking at the Indiana Derby next year.”
Beach Diva (Escondido Beach-Flashin Dee Dee) banked second place money under Luz Martinez for owner Sheri Miller and trainer Anthony Cunningham. Inseperable Blood (Apollitical Blood-Miss Inseprable) cashed the third place check under Samuel Mendez for owner Duke Racing LLC and trainer Randy Smith. Followed by Rock Candy Almighty (PYC Paint Your Wagon-Jesses Candy)
in fourth, then Fire The Cartel (Five Bar Cartel-Prairie Fire), WH Imastreakinbeach (Escondido Beach-WH Streakin Pie), Up Town J Ray (Escondido Beach-Shazilla), Jess Bring It On (Jess Zoomin-Billie Bob TB), Zoomin Policy (Jess Zoomin-BP Tres Seis Policy) and Gottasmoochjess (Jess Zoomin- Smooch And Run).
