Remember Me Rose (Corona Cartel-Im Moonlighting, Zevi TB) was named the 2019 Speedhorse Broodmare of the Year. An earner of over $820,000, Remember Me Rose was a 2019 Top 5 Dam of Money Earners and Stakes winners.

The AQHA released the fifth video in the 2020 AQHA Convention videos series – the 2020-21 AQHA President Remarks, presented by AQHA President Butch Wise. In the video, Wise discusses his commitment to what will occur during his presidency: animal welfare, youth, Bank of America AQHA Racing Challenge, etc. “In the coming year, there is a lot to be done while preserving the traditions that make us who we are as an organization and a breed.” said Wise.

The AQHA confirmed that Carneros si 113 (Prospect To The Top-Cakebread And Thou, Valiant Hero) set a New World Record for 110-yards in an allowance at Ajax Downs. The 2015 brown gelding went wire-to-wire under Ed Walton for owner Milena Kwiecien, trainer Jason Pasco and breeder Stone Chase Stables LLC.

The Indiana Horse Racing Commission approved the petition of Eldorado Resorts,
Inc. to acquire all ownership of Caesar’s Entertainment Corp. and its direct and indirect subsidiaries in Indiana, including Indiana Grand Racing & Casino, Harrah’s Hoosier Park Racing & Casino, and all Winner’s Circle Off-Track Betting facilities.

Indiana Grand Racing & Casino followed CDC guidelines to reduce exposure risks and did not allow the transfer of any jockey, exercise rider
or groom from Lone Star Park due to positive COVID-19 tests and the suspension of their racing season. The track also ruled that all jockeys accepting a mount at the facility agree to ride exclusively at the track.

Former Louisiana Quarter Horse Breeders Association executive director Tony Patterson was named racing secretary at Lone Star Park, for both Quarter Horse and Thoroughbred meets at the track in Grand Prairie, Texas.

The 2020 Texas Horse Racing Hall of Fame inducted five individuals at Retama Park: longtime racing official Tommy Azopardi; former AQHA president and director of the Texas A&M Equine Initiative Dr. Jim Heird; World Champion trainer Mike Robbins; owner of WinStar Farms and Texas-based breeder/owner Kenny Trout; and trainer of 2009 Horse of the Year Rachel Alexandra and Oaklawn Park steward Hal Wiggins.

Reigning APHA Champion Jockey Cody Rodger Smith has passed legendary G.R. Carter in lifetime APHA earnings to become the all-time leading earner with $3,682,958. Carter previously held the record with total earnings of $3,647,427. Smith has earned the leading Paint jockey title six times and Carter eight times. Smith has ridden such standouts as World Champions Painted Turnpike, CRM Livewire, Live Moonshine, Southern Electric; Champions Awesome Fling, Bully Pulpit, I Kick; and DTL Chasin Tale, to name a few.
