Eyesa Timber has won his last three races in a row, with his latest victory coming in the $46,165
Canada Cup Futurity at Century Mile on Oct. 25.
Ridden by J. Botello, Eyesa Timber stepped away from the 3-post on top. The pair continued in the lead through- out the sprint and were 3-lengths to
the good at the top of the stretch. They won convincingly by 1 3/4-lengths, completing the 400 yards in :20.251 while posting a 97 speed index.
Eyesa Timber secured the $21,416 winner’s share of the purse, which boosted his total cumulative earn- ings to $56,491. The gelding now has a race record of 7-4(2)-2-0 with
his other stakes victory being in the Alberta Bred Futurity last month. Breeder/owner/trainer Wesley
T. Oulton bred Eyesa Timber out of winner Eyesa Perry, a half-sister to El Primero Del Ano Derby-G2 runner-up Kite Flyin. Eyesa Perry has produced 100% money earners from four starters. Eyesa Timber is her first stakes winner.
Stablemate Jess Be First (First Timber- Ima Jess A Streaker) ran a steady and even race with Neville Stephenson in the saddle, finishing in second for owners Ralph Wilber and Dwaine Ferguson and trainer Wesley Oulton. The geld- ing finished third in the Alberta Stallion Stakes Futurity in August.
Ulnvme To (First Timber- Ulnvme) and jockey O. Hernandez drifted to the outside rail and took the scenic route down the track, but was still able to capture third place. He is owned by Riordan Oulton and trained by Allen Goodsell. The gelding was sec- ond in the Alberta Stallion Stakes Futurity earlier this year.
Cerveza Corona (Favorite Cartel- Corona Mas Fina) was fourth and was followed by Halos Sign (Wagon Tales-Hawks Halo), Bound Too Be First (First Timber-Hawks Halo), Royale Runaway (First Timber- Sparkling Hy) and Jagnestimber (First Timber-Gilded Gold).
