In her first start of the 2021 season, Jess A Sweet Suprize finished strongly to register a mild upset in the $16,625 QROOI Sprint Series Stakes #1 at Ajax
Downs on June 16.

broke alertly from 5-post and dueled for the early lead with 24-1 outsider Arctic Fame and jockey Josh Scott. Those two rivals raced together through the lane in the 110-yard dash, and at the finish, there was not much between the pair with Jess A Sweet Suprize prevailing by a nose. It was another neck back to third-place finisher Night Fishn,
who was disqualified for interference and placed seventh, which moved up Chicksdigmymoneybags to third. The odds-on favorite, Country Boy 123, was never a factor and wound up crossing the wire in fifth position.
The winner completed the distance in :6.959 running into a 24-mph headwind. The final time earned a 94 speed index. Owned and trained by Craig Spada, Jess A Sweet Suprize improved her overall record to 22-5-4-5, and her earnings now stand at $46,540. Bred in Iowa by Pattie Marshall and Erin Goings, Jess A Sweet Suprize is produced from the Spit Curl Jess mare Jess Curl My Prize.
Arctic Fame (Dash To The Arctic-Magic Ta Fame) finished a game second, just missing for owner George Coleman and trainer Scott Reid. Chicksdigmymoneybags (Chicks Regard-Aaneta) and jockey Regan Knowles finished third for owner Mary Schrama and trainer Dan Giles.
Country Boy 123 (Country Chicks Man-Very Dashin 123), Up Your Bet (One Sweet Jess-Miss Mindys Bar Bet), Channelislandsflyer (Wave Carver- Eye Go Kim), Night Fishn (Sugarman Perry-Fisher Lines) and Carneros (Prospect To The Top- Cakebread And Thou) completed the order of finish. Silken Siri and Zoxtobeyou were scratched.
