Crazy Down Corona has produced over $3.6 million and two 2022 Champions including Empressum & Hes Judgeandjury
with thirds in the 1985 Busch Graham Farms Futurity and 1987 Graham Farms Maturity. The produce record for Debonairess verifies why Holt liked this mare. She was the
dam of 14 ROM runners from 16 starters with five stakes winners and two stakes placed runners. Her stakes winners include, in addition to Fontana Beaujolais: Fast Debonair, winner of the 1998 Texas Classic Futurity-G1; Lady Mara, winner of the 1997 Oklahoma Futurity-G1; Savona, winner
of the 1995 Manor Downs Futurity; and Native Debonair, winner of the 1989 QHBC Northwest Classic Futurity.
Debonairess was sired by Mr Dark Jet, winner of the 1979 South Texas Derby. He sired foals that earned $1,335,508 with 122 ROM and ten stakes winners. His leading money earner was Just Another Jet, winner of four stakes including the 1985 Brady Spring Derby and the 1988 El Camino El Real Handicap. Mr Dark Jet was sired by Three Ohs and he was out of Miss Dark Jet by Jet Deck and Miss Dark Jet was out of Dark Sin by Depth Charge TB.
The dam of Debonairess is Cause Im Easy, a race mare with four wins and one second, earning $2,367. She is the dam of ten starters with seven ROM, two stakes winners and one stakes placed runner. Her first stakes winner
is Dark Deb, winner of the 1988 Quarter Horse Breeders of Texas Futurity. Dark Deb is a full sister to Debonairess. Her second stakes winner is Amir, winner of the 1987 Longhorn Derby. Cause Im Sassy, the dam of Cause Im Easy, is sired by Rebel Cause and out of Sassy T Bars by Diamond 2 Bar.
This is what Steve Holt had to say about Crazy About Corona, the dam of Crazy Down Corona. “She was a real nice mare just a bubble off a real top stakes mare that ran out close to $100,000, won or placed in two or three stakes. I had an offer to sell her and then I met Jeff Jones through another acquaintance, and he had a share in First Down Dash. I knew him well enough, and I went to him and said, ‘If you provide the breeding, we will foal share on this mare.’ We got two embryos that year and only one of them took and that was Crazy Down Corona. That is how we got that family started.”
The official race record for Crazy About Corona shows that she made 16 starts with seven wins, two seconds and two thirds earning $90,252. She was a stakes winner in the Fair Meadows Belles Stakes with a second in the Bob Moore Memorial Stakes-G3 and
thirds in the Remington Park Futurity-G2 and Kansas Futurity-RG2.
