Brad McKinzie Los Alamitos Winter Championship-G1
APOLLITICAL PENCE

Trainer Monty Arrossa swept both graded stakes at Los Alamitos the weekend of Feb. 19-20. First he won the Los Alamitos Winter Derby-G1 with Scoops Dynasty, and then he captured
the Brad McKinzie Los Alamitos Winter Championship-G1 with Apollitical Pence.
Apollitical Pence has a fabulous win-
ning streak going since last November. He took the Nov. 14 Z Wayne Griffin Directors Handicap, added the prestigious Champion of Champions-G1 on Dec. 11, and then began 2022 with victories in the trials and final of the Brad McKinzie. Apollitical Pence also made it a Champion of Champions double, having also scored in the 2020 edition of that race.
After qualifying the fastest for the Brad McKinzie with a wire-to-wire 1 3/4-length win on Jan. 30, Apollitical Pence went off as the 4-5 favorite in the final over Flash Bak, who ran second to Apollitical Pence in the 2021 Champion of Champions.
