a once-in-a-lifetime filly. She did everything perfect. She perked her ears once and seemed to be looking at the other horses. That’s the only time I tapped her. She did the rest.”
Now a winner in four of five career starts, Red Headed Beach, who also annexed the Gordon Mobley Futurity in August, improved her bankroll to $244,999. Owned by Pattie Marshall and trained by Tim Eggleston, Read Headed Beach was a $5,000 repurchase from the 2022 QHRAI Speed Sale and was bred in Indiana by Sheri Miller. She is produced from Red Storm Cat mare Red Storm Flash.
Red Headed Beach has been a part of Eggleston’s program from the start. She was foaled at Eggleston’s farm and Tim’s wife, Keli, has been an integral part of the filly’s development.
“She’s a one-of-a-kind filly,” Keli shared after the win. “And she doesn’t live up to her feisty name anymore. She’s a sweetheart to work around.” Tim, who splits his time between the track and the farm in southern Indiana, said, “Keli does it all. I have to thank Keli a lot for getting her (Red Headed Beach) here.”
Tin Knocker (Habits Secret-Favorite Sissy) finished a game second for owner Gerardo Corral and trainer Ricardo Martinez. The bay gelding won his trial heat and finished fifth
in the Gordon Mobley behind Red Headed Beach. Bred in Indiana by Carlos Ramos, Tin Knocker is a two-time winner from six lifetime starts. He was a $10,500 Speed Sale repurchase.
Go O Commando (Capo De Capi-Black Veil) and jockey James Flores pressed the leader early and finished third for owner Brant Barley and trainer Casey Black. The bay gelding
finished second in his trial heat and owns one win from seven lifetime starts. Barley and Sharp Farm bred Go O Commando in Missouri.
The Good Candy (Jess Good Candy-The Regal Streak), MG Pilot Boy (Paint My Pilot-Spellbound), Jes Takin On Cash (Jess
Zoomin-Ja Red River Rose), Unchallenged (The Marfa Lights-Unappeasable), Eyesa Dashin Josie (Dash Master Jess-BV Eyesazoom), Trixs Are For Kids (One Sweet Jess-Cartels Royal Candy), and Eagle Flybye (Moonin The Eagle-Bye Bye Corona) completed the order of finish.
