blood between the sire’s dam and the mare he is bred to is the blood of Tiny’s Gay and his full sister Tiny’s Delight. This pattern concentrates the blood of Tiny’s Gay and Tiny’s Delight and it passed to the foal combined with the blood of the sire’s dam. This increases the influence of the blood of the sire’s dam on the foal produced.
Flying Cowboy 123 is following in his sire and grandsire’s steps as a sire with first crops earnings of over $4 million with his AQHA and APHA bred foals. More on that later in a future Speedlines.

Z started with the Carver Ranch and the founder Ralph Carver. Carver, the owner
of a grocery store who started his family raising Limousine Cattle, became interested in raising racehorses. Today Kay Carver Patino is carrying on with the grocery business and raising Limousine cattle, with horses no longer a big part of the family business. But she has kept her hand in racing Quarter Horses. She has been a partner in several partnerships with such noted horses as Givinitaroyaleffort, winner of the 2010 Heritage Place Futurity-G1, and High Rate Of Return, winner of the 2011 Heritage Place Futurity-G1. Her current partnership of CNN Breeding with Connie Nobles, Jeremy Newton and Carver Farm saw their runner Paige run third in the 2023 All American Oaks Invitational.
The future for Slash Z Quarter Horses looks bright as they have two foals out of CF Smokin Gun on the ground, a colt by Tarzanito and a filly by Mitole. They are
the common ancestor than by linebreeding to that common ancestor through one individual. The great stallion Seattle Slew serves as an example as he was linebred to Nasrullah and his 3/4-brother Royal Charger. He had two crosses to Nasrullah and one cross to Royal Charger. He had a breeding pattern of 4x5x4 to the 3/4-brothers.
This linebreeding is also an example
of the “return of the blood” that is often seen. This breeding practice appears when a stallion is crossed on a mare that carries the blood of his dam. In this case the common
