coming back to win the 2019 Texas Classic Derby-G1 and then he was third in the All American Derby-G1. He made seven starts at three with four wins including the stakes win, a second and a third in the prestigious All American Derby to earn $401,388. He was the 2019 Champion Three-Year-Old Colt. His total race record shows 13 starts with eight wins, one second and two thirds earning $965,811.
Paragon Farms bought Flying Cowboy 123 at the 2017 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale for $100,000. He was trained by Blane Wood for his racing career. He retired to Bob Moore Farms, standing there until he was moved to Granada Farms for the 2023 breeding season. He was recently bought by Ray and Lainie Whitmire and will stand the 2024 season at Royal Vista Ranch in Wayne, Oklahoma.
A closer look at the pedigree of Flying Cowboy 123 will show that his grandsire Mr Jess Perry was sired by Streakin La Jolla, an undefeated runner with eight wins in eight starts including the 1988 Sound

Flying Cowboy 123 was bred to be a Champion. He was bred by Carolyn C. Bay, who with late husband Walter were the breeders of Cold Cash 123, the 2011 World Champion, Champion Three Year Old and the Champion Three-Year-Old Gelding, and I Do One Two Three, the 2010 APHA World Champion Paint Horse, Champion Three Year Old, Champion Three-Year-Old Gelding and the 2009 APHA Running Champion Two-Year-Old Gelding.
Not only did he come from a family that produced Champions, but also, he comes from a sire line of Champions. Flying Cowboy 123’s sire is Apollitical Jess, the 2010 World Champion, Champion Three Year Old and
Champion Three-Year-Old Colt. The sire
of Apollitical Jess is Mr Jess Perry, the 1994 Champion Two Year Old and Champion Two- Year-Old Colt. The dam side of the pedigree of Apollitical Jess has championship honors with his dam Apollitical Time being the 2005 Champion Three-Year-Old Filly, the 2006 Champion Mare and the 2006 Champion Aged Mare. She was also an AQHA Broodmare of the Year in 2010.
Flying Cowboy 123 did not disappoint
as he was named the 2018 Champion Two- Year-Old Colt. He won his title with a record of six starts with four wins and one third. He won the 2018 Texas Classic Futurity-G1 and was third in the Rainbow Futurity-G1. He earned $564,423. He did the rare double by
