The $460,824 All American Oaks-G1 is a race specifically designed for 3-year-old fillies at a distance of 440 yards. This year will be the third running of the event.
In the trials, the temperatures were near 70 degrees with rain and a sloppy track. The first of four trials started off with a tail wind, followed by a cross wind in the second trial and then died out by the time the third trial began.
Apollitical Jess qualified three to the finals with second fastest qualifier Sassalitical, Political Rose and Mperativ. Kiss My Hocks qualified two in Kiss The Cartel and Miss Beth Dutton. Hes Relentless also qualified two in Shesa Relentless Gal and Sunshine Nmy Pocket.
There were three homebreds in the final field: multiple winner Family Dynasty, bred and owned by Gentry Farms. Steve D. Burns and Dean Frey bred Toxic Relationship and Steve D. Burns owns the filly and Dean Frey is her trainer. Lees Racing bred KJ Brandy and John and Kathy Lee co-own the filly with Ruben I. Mares. Trainers Clint Crawford and Wesley T. Giles both qualified two horses to the finals - Crawford with second fastest qualifier Sassalitical and Miss Beth Dutton and Giles with Mperativ and KJ Brandy, both ridden by Adrian A. Ramos. Also, the mare A Snowy Cartel from breeder Flag Ranch LLC qualified two to the event in Kiss The Cartel and Shesa Relentless Gal, the third and fourth fastest qualifiers.
