“One of the things we felt about the offspring of Jess Good Candy is that they were all good-sized horses and once we watched them through the first part of the year, we came to the conclusion that one would expect: he is going to sire horses that want a route of ground,” Wise continued.
He is going to get horses that want 350 yards and beyond. Once you get past 400 yards, these horses really excel. The reality of it is you are probably not going to win a 300-yard futurity in March with a Jess Good Candy. But the reality is every $1 million race we compete in is 350 yards or more and those races fit Jess Good Candy very well. He is a deserving Champion first-crop sire, and we are excited about the future with him.”

Dulce Sin Tacha emerged as the star from Jess Good Candy’s initial crop. The colt out of Prissy Sin Tacha, by Tempting Dash, enjoyed a banner season last year, notching five wins from six starts, including an impressive victory in the Texas Classic Futurity-G1. He also finished second
in the All American Juvenile and showcased his immense talent with wins in his trial heats for the Rainbow Futurity, All American, and Texas Classic Futurity, culminating at season’s end being crowned AQHA Racing Champion Two- Year-Old Colt. Owned and bred in Texas by Bob and Jerry Gaston and trained by Heath Taylor, Dulce Sin Tacha earned $518,403 in his first year at the track.
Teller With Candy was his sire’s second stakes winner of 2020, winning the Corona Chick Handicap at Los Alamitos. Out of Teller N
Telleragain, by Corona Cartel, Teller With Candy won three times at two, all in Southern California. Misscandymountain scored a pair of wins at
two, winning her Ruidoso Futurity trial in her career debut in May and subsequently finishing second in the Ruidoso Futurity-G1 in her next start. She also captured her Rainbow Futurity trial and was runner-up in her All American Futurity trial. The filly, who is produced from Eyesa Lil Cuervo, by Lil Bit Cuervo, banked $196,200 on the season.
Stakes-placed in 2020 were Sweet
Candy Jewel, second in the Black Gold 400 Championship Futurity Lassies Division-G3; Jess Good Enough, second in the Will Rogers Downs Juvenile Challenge; and Ah Candyland, third in the Alex Picov Memorial. Jess Good Candy was also represented by Gym N Jam who was a finalist in the Dash For Cash Futurity-G2.
