The $439,884 All American Oaks is a race specifically designed for 3-year-old fillies at a distance of 440 yards. This year will be the second running of the event.
In the trials for this race, the temperatures were in the upper 70’s with cloudy skies a 7-13 mph head to start off the day, moving to a 10-mph cross wind for the final heat.
There were two qualifiers from the first trial, one from the second, six from the third race including the fastest qualifier, and one from the fourth and final trial.
Apollitical Jess qualified three to the finals in fastest qualifier Apollitical Daizies, HR Princess Jess and In My Heart. Favorite Cartel qualified two in La Jaconde and Charcoal Broiler. There are three homebreds in the final field: stakes winner Hollyn Bootie, bred and owned by Mark and Annette McCloy; stakes winner La Jaconde, bred and owned by Balgo Racing Team Inc.; and In My Heart, bred and owned by Gentry Farms. Trainer Trey Wood qualified three to the finals in 2020 World Champion Whistle Stop Cafe, who is unbeaten from nine starts, and Hollyn Bootie, both ridden by jockey Tanner Thedford - the only jockey to qualify more than one horse, as well as In My Heart.
