The second ten fastest qualifiers from the All American Derby trials have earned invites to the $100,000 All American Invitational, which will be run on September 5.
The runners in the first two trials faced cloudy skies and temperatures in the 70’s, the third trial had rain and a fast track, it was we-fast for the fifth heat and the sixth through eighth heats were sloppy-sealed.
Homebreds include fastest qualifier Dulce Sin Tacha, bred/owned by Bob and Jerry Ann Gaston, Gym N Jam for breeder/owner Walt and Pat Fletcher, and Favorite Agree for breeder/owner Paragon Farms. Ezra Elton Lee owns second-fastest qualifier Apolliticalfastprize, and Lee co-bred him with J. Giles and M. Neugebauer. Third-fastest qualifier Flash Bak was bred by Jim Streelman and Bill Dale, the principals of owner Dutch Masters III. Trainer Wesley T. Giles qualified two to the big event and jockey Emilio Tapia was aboard both. Francisco Calderon also rode two qualifiers. Two sires had two qualifiers to the Invitational, Jess Good Candy and Valiant Hero.
