Ridethehightide, a Quarter Horse son of The second-high Quarter Horse seller, son of Big Daddy Cartel is out of Dreaming Of
the Corona Cartel stallion Big Daddy Cartel consigned by Mac and Janis Murray’s
MJ Farms, agent, sold for $135,000 to top the Quarter Horse portion of the August 19-20 New Mexico-Bred Sale at the Ruidoso Horse Sale Pavilion at Ruidoso Downs.
John Simmons signed the ticket for Ridethehightide (Hip No. 155), a gray gelding out of the stakes-winning and multiple
graded stakes placed Ocean Runaway mare Ms Riptide. Ridethehightide is a half-brother to 2019 Zia Futurity (RG1) winner Mister Riptide, and he is a full brother to Nineteen Crimes, the winner of the April 27, $97,250 Desert Classic Futurity (R) at Turf Paradise and last year’s sale topper at $97,000.
Herewegoesboyz (Hip No. 123), was purchased by Lynn Landrum and Ted Rushing for $95,000. Consigned by Double LL Farms, agent for Mark and Annette McCloy, the colt is by the Game Patriot stallion Jet Black Patriot out of the unraced Walk Thru Fire mare Desperate Love. Herewegoesboyz’s second dam, Grade 1 winner and AQHA Dam of Distinction Remember Me Rose, produced seven stakes winners, including Intense Fire, a full brother to Desperate Love and finalist in the 2018 Texas Classic Derby (G1) at Lone Star Park.
Raymond Merrill paid $85,000 for the third-high Quarter Horse seller, Big Racy Kiss (Hip No. 219). Consigned by Brown Racing, agent for Mark and Peggy Brown, the gelded
Kisses, a daughter of the Chicks Beduino stallion Legendary Dreamer who won the 2010 Bitterroot Futurity (RG2) at Pocatello Downs. Big Racy Kiss is a half-brother to 2018 Los Alamitos Winter Derby (G1) winner Jess My Kiss and multiple stakes winner Kissed By An Eagle.
The Big Daddy (Hip No. 148) was purchased for $80,000 from the consignment of MJ Farms, agent for L. Hendrix Horses LLC. Bill T. Robbins signed the ticket for
the son of Big Daddy Cartel and the winning and graded stakes placed Jesse James Jr mare Jessa Diva. The gray colt’s second dam, the Special Leader mare Leading Diva, won the 2000 Manor Downs Lassie Futurity (G3) and produced Leading Cartel, a half-brother to
