your stallion’s status will be changed to INACTIVE for the New Mexico Bred program, and any resulting foals will NOT be eligible for the New Mexico Bred program.
For a stallion to be Re-activated in the New Mexico Stallion Registry, there will be a Re-Activation fee of $200.00, and the stallion must have a negative EVA test
and vaccinated for EVA within ten days of the negative test.
Once appropriate documentation is received in the NMHBA office,
any 2023 foal(s) may then be registered as New Mexico Bred. However, PENALTIES WILL APPLY.

SLAMMED
Slammed led at every call en route to a dominating 11-length victory in the July 31, 5 1/2-furlong Sierra Starlet Stakes (R) for New Mexico-bred three-year-old fillies.
Ridden by Tracy Hebert, Slammed set frac- tions of :21.55 and :44.08 before reaching the wire in 1:02.36. Todd Fincher prepped the bay daughter of Marking for owners Fincher Racing LLC, Brad King, and Suzanne Kirby.
Slammed was coming off of a convincing 9-length win in a 5 1/2-furlong, $14,400 non- winners-of-two allowance for state-bred sopho- more fillies on June 20. The filly was bred by Brad King and Todd Fincher, and he is one of three stakes winners from 21 starters sired by Marking, a Kentucky-bred 9-year-old son of the A.P. Indy stallion Bernardini.
Racing from 2015-16, Marking won three of eight starts and earned $426,200, and his record included a second-place finish in Runhappy’s 2015 Malibu Stakes (G1) at Santa Anita Park. The stallion has sired the earners of more than $466,200, including Marked, the winner of the Mountain Top Thoroughbred Futurity (R).
Marking is a half-brother to Grade 2 winner Lake Avenue. He is owned by Fred Alexander and Todd Fincher, and he stands for a $3,500 fee at Fred and Linda Alexander’s A & A Ranch at Anthony, New Mexico.
Slammed is also one of four winners from
as many starters produced by Hennesey Smash, a multiple stakes-winning daughter of the Hennessy stallion Roll Hennessy Roll. Slammed is a half-sister to Roll On Diabolical, whose two stakes wins include the $177,659 New Mexico State Fair Thoroughbred Futurity (R) at The Downs at Albuquerque.
Slammed’s second dam, the unraced Rare Brick mare Some Smash, foaled four other stakes winners, all of whom were half siblings to Hennesey Smash, including eight-time stakes winner and $899,144 earner Some Ghost.
Slammed banked $30,000 from her first career stakes win. All told, the filly has won three of four starts and has earned $49,605.
Proofsinthepuddin, the 7-5 favorite in the field of 11, finished second and was followed by Comic Hot Toddy, Speedy Wildcat, Desertrose Oftexas,
Line Call, Quatro, Destiny Who, Atill I Chime, Marking Time and Shame On Bea.
Proofsinthepuddin is a daughter of Marking racing for Reliance Ranches LLC. The filly pock- eted the $10,000 runner-up share of the purse to bring her earnings to $33,624 from five races.
Comic Hot Toddy races for Helen Nave, who also bred the Indian Firewater filly. Comic Hot Toddy has won two of five starts, including last year’s Rio Grande Senorita Futurity (R), and she has banked $83,364.
