Being out of a Thoroughbred mare, Shockinglyfamous not surprisingly took to 870- yard racing in 2022. He succeeded so well that he was named the year’s Champion Aged Stallion.

III bred Shockinglyfamous in Texas out of the Thoroughbred stakes winning mare, Shocktime.
Shockinglyfamous began racing for his breeder as a two year old in 2018, with Willis as his trainer. Stone Chase Stables LLC took over as the principal owner late that year. At three in 2019, the colt won his first stakes, the Altoona Derby at Prairie Meadows, and he became a Graded stakes winner at four in 2020 by capturing Remington Park’s SLM Big Daddy Stakes-G3 at 550 yards.
The 2022 SLM Big Daddy served as Shockinglyfamous’ 6-year-old debut; he finished second. Then in an 870-yard optional claiming race at Remington, Shockinglyfamous won by an astounding 7 1/4-lengths.

Valley Stakes-G2 and Remington Park Distance Championship-G1, Shockinglyfamous won the June 18 Jesse Yoakum Memorial 870 Stakes at Sam Houston by 5 1/4-lengths. “When he broke as well as he did, I just wanted to get the lead and let him run his race,” said jockey Benito Baca. “He’s a complete class act, very professional.”
Following a third in the Benny Pennington Memorial at Retama Park, Shockinglyfamous trounced a field by 2-lengths at Will Rogers Downs. With Cody Wainscott in the irons, he won the Oct. 2 Will Rogers Distance Challenge-G3.
At Horseshoe Indianapolis, Shockinglyfamous ran third in the Oct. 22 AQHA Distance Challenge Championship-G1. He completed
his season in the Nov. 26 Devil His Due Stakes
at Lone Star, but was bumped early and finished fourth. Shockinglyfamous earned $111,514 for 2022, raising his lifetime total to $291,218.
