                  Ratification and trainer Juan Vazquez
Cox bred Ratification in Texas from Shesa First Ratify, who won the 2010 Lubbock Stakes-G2 and finished second in the 2009 All American Futurity-G1. The mare has produced eight winners from 14 starters, as well as Three Times A Ladye, a 3-year-old who has not yet won but finished third in the 2019 Ruidoso Juvenile Stakes.
Ratification is by Apollitical Jess.
“I never had an Apollitical Jess before,” Buchanan said. “I tell you what—I see why they make so much money. If you get them aimed, they’re going to run.”
Ratification certainly has run for Buchanan.
Gentry Farms’ homebred Kiss Thru Fire (Walk Thru Fire-Fredaville) finished second under jockey Tanner Thedford for trainer Charles Duke Shults. Kiss Thru Fire previously won three races.
Mario Delgado rode Kieva (Apollitical Jess-AMG Six Point Three) to third for owner MJR Investments Ltd. and trainer Clinton Crawford. Kieva qualified for the Rainbow Oaks earlier this year.
Completing the field were Apollitical Snow (Apollitical Jess-This Snow Is Cold), Kylee Joy (First Moonflash-Quiet Courage), Valiant Astica (Valiant Hero-Astica), BV Sheslikethewind (Apollitical Jess-Corona Cayenne), Kiss
My Lassie (Kiss My Hocks-Lassie O Toole) and Foxys First Kiss (Kiss My Hocks-Foxy Moonflash). Amethyst was scratched.
