Dexxter kept his Grade 1 win streak on course on Sept. 6, as the 4-year-old son of the Holland Ease stallion Corona Cartel
sprinted to a neck victory in the 440-yard $125,000 All American Gold Cup-G1 at Ruidoso Downs.
Prepped by Monty Arrossa for owners Dunn Ranch and Valeriano Racing Stables LLC, Dexxter covered his quarter-mile trip in :21.251. James Flores rode the sorrel gelding, who earned a 99 speed index and the $55,118 winner’s share of the purse from his third Grade 1 score this season.
Dexxter was making his first career start at Ruidoso Downs and in the state of New Mexico. The gelding broke sharply in second from 3-post and led at every subsequent call.
”He’s such a nice horse, just so profes- sional,” said Flores. “He’s been here all summer, and he’s been training really hard.
“Sometimes it feels like he wants to train me in the mornings,” added Flores, who has
