  CAT DADDYS LIL GIRL
  Making her 6-year-old season debut, Cat Daddys Lil Girl sprinted to a wire-to-wire vic- tory in the January 15, 400-yard Lou Wooten/ Sydney Valentini Stakes (RG2) for New Mexico-bred fillies and mares at Sunland Park.
Cat Daddys Lil Girl defeated Mi Moonflash by 1 1/4 lengths in :19.267 under jockey Noe Garcia Jr. Wes Giles saddled the gray daughter of Big Daddy Cartel for owners Jimmy Negrete and Jimmy Vasquez.
Cat Daddys Lil Girl earned a 102 speed index and the $60,000 winner’s share of the $100,000 purse. The mare’s sire, Big Daddy Cartel, is a winning 13-year-old son of the Holland Ease stallion Corona Cartel. Racing at Ruidoso Downs in 2011, the stallion banked $121,800 from
five starts and was a finalist in the Grade 1 All American and Rainbow futurities.
Big Daddy Cartel has sired the earners of more than $12.4 million from seven crops, including multiple graded stakes winners Bigg Daddy, Bigg Dee and Mamacita Cartel. A half-brother to stakes winner Racy La Jolla, the stallion is owned by and stands for a $5,500 fee at Mac and Janis Murray’s MJ Farms at Veguita, New Mexico.
Cat Daddys Lil Girl’s dam, the 10-year- old Man On The Move mare Girlonthego, won the 2014 Zia Futurity (RG1) at
Ruidoso Downs. Girlonthego produced Ryansmanonthemoon, a half-brother to Cat Daddys Lil Girl who won three graded stakes
in New Mexico from 2018-20, including the 2019 Zia Park Championship (G1).
Cat Daddys Lil Girl’s second dam, the winning Devon Lane (TB) mare Devons Wish, foaled Wish You Had One To, a multiple graded stakes placed winning half-sister to Girlonthego. Cat Daddys Lil Girl traces back to her third dam, Kiptys Wish, a winning daughter of the Kiptydoo stallion Kiptys Charger. A 1988 foal, Kiptys Wish produced Kiptys First Dash, a Grade 3-winning half-sister to Devons Wish and a finalist in the 1990 West Texas (G1) and Sunland Park Fall (G2) futurities.
Cat Daddys Lil Girl was shortening in dis- tance off of her eighth-place finish, two lengths behind winner Apollitical Pence, in quarter horse racing’s richest and most prestigious race for older runners, the 440-yard, $600,000 Champion of Champions (G1) at Los Alamitos Racecourse on December 11. During her 2021 campaign, the mare earned $164,126 from six races, and her two wins included the May 29, 400-yard Junos Request Stakes (G1) at Remington Park.
All told, Cat Daddys Lil Girl has won 10 of 23 starts -- including five stakes -- and she has banked $554,408. Her resume includes a three- quarter length win in the 2020 Lou Wooten/ Sydney Valentini Handicap (RG2).
Sent to post as the 7-5 favorite in the full field of 10, Cat Daddys Lil Girl returned a $4.80 win mutuel. Mi Moonflash, the 7-1
third choice, completed a $22.20 ($2) exacta. Chicky Chicky Kai, Fireball Flash, A
Flashin Blu, Crown N Royal Gal, Jess To Reel, Hearts Mystic Rime, Famous Julia, and Amandas Flashy completed the order of finish.
Mi Moonflash is a homebred daughter of champion First Moonflash racing for Pierre Amestoy Jr., Leslie Amestoy and Roger K. Beasley. The 5-year-old mare has won four of 16 outs, and the $20,000 runner-up share of the purse pushed her earnings to $158,411.

A Blazin stallion Jess A Chicks, the mare has banked $202,750 from 13 starts, and she ended her sophomore season with a neck victory in the December 5, $100,000 New Mexico Fillies & Mares Championship (R) at Zia Park.
