often want that next stallion to be an outcross on his bloodlines. Slick By Design is one of those stallions that can be an outcross on many of our popular barrel racing bloodlines.
When we look at his pedigree, we
see that he has no multiple crosses in
the first five generations of his pedigree
of the prominent stallions that we see
in the breed today. Any duplication of ancestors in his pedigree that shows common ancestors appear outside the fifth generation, which also shows
that he will be an outcross on popular bloodlines. Here are some examples
of multiple crosses he carries to some important bloodlines. He has breeding patterns of 7x9x9x9x9x8x9x8x9x9x8x9x9 to Little Joe, 8x6x6 to Three Bars, 6x7x6 to Leo, 8x8x9x9x7 to Zantanon, and 8x8x6 to King P-234. With no close-up linebreeding in his pedigree to popular sires like Three Bars, Leo, Top Deck and King P-234, he is then truly an outcross on those horses. He represents an outcross within the breed that we don’t have to go to the Thoroughbred to supply the outcross blood.
That sets Slick By Design up to cross on the popular barrel racing bloodlines represented by Dash
Ta Fame, Ninety Nine Goldmine, Frenchmans Guy, Firewaterontherocks and Bully Bullion, which are the broodmare sires of his top five crosses in money earned. They also represent four of his top five money earners, including Slicks Lil Amigo ($290,631) out of a daughter of Bully Bullion; Slick N Black ($273,938) out of a daughter Ninety Nine Goldmine; Slick Lane Ta Fame ($248,225) out
of a daughter of Dash Ta Fame; Slick Swingin ($226,103) out of a daughter of Firewaterontherocks. The cross on Frenchmans Guy is the second leading money earning cross for Slick By Design, and Im A Slick Guy ($81,337) represents that cross on this list. Some other money earners include RR Tooslick Eye Mist ($139,205) out of
a daughter of Frenchmans Fabulous; Makana ($134,961) out of a daughter of Sharp Rodney; Hyper By Design ($132,975) out of a daughter of Mr Hyperspeed; Hanks Slick Design ($121,676) out of a daughter of Doc O Dynamite; and Imaslickbug ($124,248) out of a daughter of Shawne Bug.
