Slick By Design is also proving to
be a sire of roping horses. An example
is Probably By Design, the 2021 Select World Champion Heading Horse, 2022 AQHA Reserve World Champion Junior Heading Horse and 2022 AQHA Select Reserve World Champion Heading Horse. He was the 2022 AQHA High Point Dally Team Roping Heading Horse and has earned a Superior in heading with 200 points.
An added note, Slick By Design becoming a part of Highpoint Performance Horses started as a
barrel racing hobby, which is now a
big part of their breeding program. What makes this interesting is they have recently bought a mare named Terrific Energy, winner of such races
as the 2009 Mildred Vessels Memorial Handicap-G1 and Charger Bar Handicap-G1, and she is the dam of horses that have earned over $2 million. The plan is to expand their activity into Quarter Horse racing.
Now that we have completed our look at Slick By Design, we understand the thought that “he was just meant to be” as he was something special from the beginning, and that is one of the last things Allene Tatom said to me as we ended the interview. Now he is passing that on to his foals.
